Counseling now includes, but is not limited to role playing, thinking out loud, examining consequences of past behaviors and anticipating consequences of planned behaviors, practicing social skills, and understanding how past events play out in current moods and behaviors. Children this age often benefit from cognitive behavioral therapy treatment approaches.
